Meeting will be held in the distance learning labs of all High Schools and the Vocational School at 9:00am. Feel free to utilize the closest distance learning lab for you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CALL TO ORDER AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The third meeting of the Adams County School-To-Work Action Team took place March 2, 1999 in the district’s five distance learning labs. Dave McChesney called the meeting to order at 9:06am. There were 18 members present.

 

COORDINATOR’S REPORT

 

Gene Toole presented highlights from February including a brief update of the PR and web page committee. There was no fiscal activity during this month.

 

Mr. Porter presented Andrew Culbertson a Certificate for his contributions to Adams County/Ohio Valley Schools and School-To-Work in initiating and facilitating the growth of the partnership.

 

A motion was made by Nancy Darby and seconded by Dale Scott to adopt a change in the meeting format. The action team will meet every other month and the executive committee will meet on the off months. The motion passed.

 

Andrew Culbertson made a motion and Nancy Darby seconded to approve the coordinator’s report. The motion carries.

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

Mr. Porter introduced Ralph Alexander who is presently conducting an evaluation of our vocational opportunities and gathering data concerning perceptions and planning. Mr. Alexander spoke briefly to the group concerning vocational education past, present, and future.

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Nancy Darby, Linda Stepp, Andrew Culbertson, and Gene Toole developed a vehicle to give businesses the opportunity to support a continued STW effort. The committee developed a document that has been mailed to the membership. The executive committee will discuss this at the April 6 meeting.

As always, if there are items that need immediate attention they may be introduced at either meeting.
