Meeting will be held in the distance learning labs of all High Schools and the Vocational School at 9:00am. Feel free to utilize the closest distance learning lab for you.
CALL TO ORDER AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The fifth meeting of the Adams County School-To-Work Action Team took placeMay 5, 1998 in the district’s five distance learning labs. There were twenty-three present at four sites. Andrew Culbertson called the meeting to order at 9:10am.
COORDINATOR’S & FINANCIAL REPORT
Gene Toole stated that the financial report had not changed since last month. He has requested the funds for the mini grants. Mr. Toole is working with Mrs. Foster to align finances
At the regional meeting it was announced that $7,500 would be given to each county and an additional $2,500 would be allotted for data gathering for each county.
Gene stated that a brochure with data would be required for the $2,500. This will allow for the region and state STW to develop a database of activities in the state. There is a software package available to assist the data gathering. It was felt that data was presently accessible and that the job descriptions in the software would be the benefit.

OLD BUSINESS
Richard Shoemaker described the inservice at North Adams, in conjunction with the Weastec Grant presented by Vern Myer as being very informative and useful.
Greenhouses are at various stages in development. The one at the OVVS is complete and presently in operation! Stop by and see it!
Elections – Recruiting until November. Nancy Darby is the chairperson of the committee.
NEW BUSINESS
Cisco Academy, presently in the development stages, is an exciting option for students in their junior or senior year. It will meet for one hour per day at the OVVS. You do not have to be a student at the vocational school to attend.
MacaPlastics is very interested in having teachers attend the plant.
Discussion of a Spring banquet for businesses, teachers, students, members of the STW partnership was tabled for later discussion.
A motion was made by Richard Shoemaker and seconded by Dave McChesney to adjourn the meeting, the meeting adjourned
