FFA is a national organization that specializes in agriculture. FFA is sponsored by Mrs. Minton, the Agricultural Education teacher at Peebles High School. The students involved in FFA have a knowledge of the areas around them and what those areas are made up of. The students learn about agriculture by going to soil judging contests, beef, sheep, and swine judging contests, and tobacco and hay judging contests. They are also experienced in ways to conserve the environment. The students have a knowledge of how to plant and grow crops. They also learn how to budget if they were ever to own their own business. FFA is a co-ed class. To be involved in FFA is an honor. You have to work for your accomplishments and can truly feel proud to be a member. Being in FFA allows you to gain knowledge of leadership and responsability. You learn many traits and skills that may help you in the future. It is a fun-filled class with many students that are interested in agriculture.
